Father Allegedly Stabs 23-Year-Old Son to Death in Delta State

A man referred to as Iseleto allegedly ended the life of his 23-year-old son, Miracle, in Osubi, located in the Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

The unfortunate event took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Reports indicate that the conflict originated when Miracle arranged for a different apartment for his father’s wife and himself, aiming to create harmony at home.

As per information from sources quoted by Punch, this action infuriated the father, who is said to have tricked his son into a nearby bush where he brutally stabbed him multiple times with a dagger.

Following the attack, the suspect fled the community immediately.

Miracle, despite being injured, attempted to crawl from the bush to the road, where he was assisted by passing individuals to a local hospital.

He succumbed to his injuries after providing an account of how his father lured him and subsequently attacked him.

There were also claims that the suspect admitted his wrongdoing in a phone conversation with his stepdaughter.

He allegedly contacted other family members to inform them about the incident while threatening further violence against his wife and stepdaughter, accusing them of leaving home and disrupting the marriage.

A local resident described the suspect as a habitual drunkard and a chronic debtor, stating that he often assaulted his wife when intoxicated.

According to a community member, during such episodes, he would attempt forced sexual relations with his wife in the presence of their children, resulting in physical abuse when she resisted.

Furthermore, it was reported that the suspect made advances toward his stepdaughter, and upon her rejection, he expelled her from the residence.

The Delta State Police Command's spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, has verified the occurrence and announced that the suspect is currently evading arrest.
