In celebration of the 2026 National Police Day, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, directed by CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, will spearhead a sanitation exercise today across several communities in the area.

During a press conference held at the command's headquarters in Abuja over the weekend, CP Sanusi revealed that this sanitation initiative is part of a week- long series of events planned for the observance of National Police Day.

The sanitation exercise is set to begin on Monday, March 30, 2026, with a free medical outreach program aimed at providing assistance to vulnerable populations at Jabi Motor Park and the Area 1 Shopping Complex in Garki, which will also take place on the same day.

Additionally, CP Sanusi outlined other planned activities for the week, including a walkathon involving police personnel scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, followed by a public awareness campaign addressing electoral offenses and safe driving practices on Wednesday, April 1.

On Thursday, April 2, the command intends to distribute welfare checks to the families of late police officers who sacrificed their lives in the course of duty.

The week of festivities will culminate in a grand parade at Eagle Square, Abuja, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

The Commissioner of Police has invited the public to participate in the planned events and to take advantage of the free medical services along with other activities.

He highlighted that this year’s theme, "Community Partnership: Building Trust," emphasizes the significance of collaboration and public involvement in fostering an effective policing environment.
