Wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, has underscored the enduring significance of physical books in educational settings, even as technology continues its rapid global advancement.

She made this assertion during a recent meeting with Charles Harder, the United States Special Envoy for Best Future Generations, held on the sidelines of the Fostering the Future Together Global Summit in Washington, D.C. The summit was hosted by Melania Trump.

Mrs Tinubu pointed out that engaging with books helps children expand their understanding and knowledge without the frequent distractions commonly associated with social media and digital platforms.

She further stated that education remains a core priority for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing the critical need to establish a robust foundation for the nation's development.

“To effectively assist people, one must first grasp their true nature. My husband understands this… He is working to reform the system and build a strong foundation,” she commented.

The First Lady also announced upcoming plans for her office to initiate a nationwide campaign focused on improving child nutrition.

In his address, Harder indicated that the meeting's objective was to further discussions concerning the well-being and advancement of Nigerian children.

He elaborated that the Best Future Generations initiative aims to tackle global issues that impact children, including concerns related to nutrition, health, and protection from mistreatment.

The discussion occurred during the global summit, which convened over 45 First Ladies to deliberate on the influence of artificial intelligence on children and adolescents worldwide.
