Governor Abiodun Affirms Commitment to Families of Deceased Soldiers

Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, was present to lay a wreath at the Memorial Cenotaph of Fallen Heroes during the Special parade and wreath-laying ceremony for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, which took place at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Governor Dapo Abiodun reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the welfare of the families of those soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the nation’s defense.

The governor conveyed this message during a ceremonial event that honored the sacrifices of Nigeria's military personnel, which was held at the Arcade Ground in Abeokuta.

Governor Abiodun also emphasized his administration's ongoing support for veterans of the Nigerian Army, recognizing their admirable service to the nation.

He remarked on the importance of honoring fallen heroes, noting that the peace and stability currently enjoyed in the country are largely due to their bravery and sacrifices.

During the event, he underscored that the annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration remains a crucial observance that pays tribute to those who have served, despite the ongoing security challenges facing the nation.
