Governor Abiodun Commends APC Convention for Its Exceptional Organization and Security

Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State and head of the Venue Subcommittee for the recently completed All Progressives Congress (APC) 2026 National Convention, has labeled the convention a standard of excellence in organization and security. He attributed this success to extensive planning and innovative strategies.

In a statement made during the event held at Eagle Square in Abuja, Governor Abiodun emphasized that the committee conducted a thorough analysis of past conventions to pinpoint and address ongoing issues, especially those related to crowd control and venue safety.

He elaborated that the subcommittee members undertook an immediate evaluation of the site following their appointment, which resulted in a significant redesign of the venue's layout. Detailed simulations were performed to facilitate the movement of approximately 12,000 participants, ensuring a streamlined process for both entry and exit during the convention.

"We recognized the weak points from previous events and restructured the arena to rectify them. Our primary objective was to present a flawless and world- class convention," he remarked.

In terms of coordination, Governor Abiodun highlighted that specific entry points were designated for various categories of attendees, and emergency exit routes were established. Surveillance cameras were also installed at key locations within and near the venue to monitor activities and bolster security measures.

Describing the convention as a resounding success, he noted that about 11,000 participants attended, including approximately 8,400 delegates, 1,800 committee members, and 200 VIPs. He expressed gratitude to Bola Tinubu for entrusting him with the task and mentioned that the achievement aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In her remarks, Ogun State's Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, called the event unprecedented, commending the attendance from all 36 states and applauding the planning team for organizing a commendable convention.

Similarly, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing the Ogun Central Senatorial District, remarked that the convention is an exemplary event that showcases effective leadership and precise coordination by the organizing committee.
