Kano State's Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially removed Shehu Wada Sagagi from his position as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, with immediate effect.
This announcement was made by the governor's spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, in a statement released on Thursday.
The statement indicated that the ousted commissioner has been instructed to transfer responsibilities to the Director of Commerce until further notice.
In expressing his gratitude, Governor Yusuf acknowledged Sagagi's contributions while in office, particularly in the areas of politics, religion, and the nurturing of small and medium enterprises within the state.
He also extended his best wishes to the former commissioner for his future endeavors, reiterating his administration's commitment to providing effective service delivery and upholding good governance principles.
Furthermore, the release highlighted that this dismissal forms part of ongoing strategic adjustments within the government aimed at promoting systematic growth and sustainable development in Kano State.
Reports from Daily Trust note that this incident marks the second time Sagagi has been removed from Governor Yusuf's cabinet, having previously been dismissed from his role as Chief of Staff in December 2024, prior to his recent termination as Commissioner.
