Hunter Biden's Ex-Partner Seeks Arrest Over Unmet Child Support Obligations

The mother of Hunter Biden's 7-year-old daughter is petitioning an Arkansas judge to have the former first son incarcerated until he fulfills his child support agreement. Lunden Roberts claims Biden has failed to comply with the 2023 settlement, which involved art sales for their daughter's support.

Hunter Biden's former girlfriend and the mother of his seven-year-old child has formally requested that the former first son be imprisoned for not adhering to their child support arrangement. Lunden Roberts submitted a motion to an Arkansas judge on Tuesday, January 13, urging the court to reopen their protracted legal case and detain the 55-year-old Biden until he complies with the terms of their 2023 settlement.

The motion explicitly states, "Incarcerate him in the Independence County Detention Center as a civil penalty until he purges his contempt by complying with this court’s orders."

Roberts, aged 34, had initially reached an agreement with Hunter Biden, wherein he committed to allocating the proceeds from a specific quantity of his artwork to their then-four-year-old daughter, identified in the legal documents as "MC 1" (minor child 1), whose name is Navy Joan Roberts. As part of this settlement, Roberts withdrew her request for her daughter to bear the Biden surname and reduced her initial child support claim from $20,000 per month to $5,000.

It is noteworthy that Hunter Biden had consistently denied fathering the child until a court-mandated DNA examination in 2019 confirmed his paternity.

According to the recent court filing, Hunter Biden and his daughter had engaged in several scheduled video calls, but the father reportedly ceased contact with his five-year-old daughter in 2024. This occurred after Roberts' book, "Out of the Shadows," was published. The motion asserts that the book "neither disparaged nor derided" Hunter Biden.

The filing further claims that Biden's actions have caused "emotional trauma" to Navy, particularly after she attended a family wedding and realized her father would not escort her down the aisle or participate in dancing with her at the reception.

Roberts' argument for Biden's arrest is predicated on the assertion that he only addresses issues related to the child support dispute when compelled to do so, and that incarceration would serve as a necessary motivator for compliance.

The motion contends, "The defendant should be incarcerated as a criminal penalty for flaunting the dignity and authority of this court."

Despite the emotional distress, Navy reportedly believes her father will reach heaven and has expressed a desire to "get to heaven" to be with her dad, whom she perceives as living "far away and is really busy."

The filing quotes, "To this day, MC1 has not heard again from her father, and this is baffling to [Roberts] and her family because Mr. Biden said that he had ‘lived in guilt and remorse every second of every day that [he] hasn’t been in [MC1’s] life.'"

Roberts alleges that Biden's expressed remorse was a tactic to persuade her into accepting a reduced financial settlement for their daughter's upkeep.

The motion emphasizes, "As is systemic in the history of this case, it is because of Mr. Biden’s antics that we find ourselves back before this court."

Additionally, Roberts is seeking a revision of the court-ordered child support payments, citing a significant change in Biden's financial circumstances since the previous court ruling. She highlights that her daughter is being denied the privileges enjoyed by Hunter Biden's other grandchildren.

The filing states, "MC1 has begun to realize that she does not have access to the same lifestyle as Mr. Biden’s other children, and that is not fair to MC1."

It concludes by asserting, "It is axiomatic that no one can force Mr. Biden into being a good dad for MC1, but this court can make it so that MC1 has, at least, the same level of support as MC1’s younger half-brother," referencing Beau, Hunter Biden's son with his current wife, Melissa Cohen.
