Igbo-Eze South Chairman Extends Congratulations to New Enugu APC Leadership

Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, chairman of the Igbo-Eze South Local Government Council in Enugu State, has commended Martin Chukwunweike on his election as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the same state, along with the other 36 members of the executive team.

The newly elected officials took office on Tuesday during the APC's state congress, which was held at Okpara Square, Enugu.

Other officials who have been elected include Peace Nnaji as deputy chairman, Nnamdi Nwafor as vice chairman (Enugu East), Fabian Onah as vice chairman (Enugu North), Chimaobi David as vice chairman (Enugu West), Chukwudi Nnadozie as secretary, Uche Obute as publicity secretary, and Esther Edeh as the woman leader.

Ukwueze noted that with their election comes the responsibility to strengthen party structures at all levels, enhance grassroots engagement, entrench policy consistency, and position the APC as a vehicle for sustainable growth across Enugu State.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with the state’s leadership in translating both state and federal advancements into significant local impacts. ‘Igbo-Eze South is prepared to support the party by promoting stability, growth, and electoral strength for the APC in Enugu State,’ Ukwueze declared.

Reflecting on the recent congress, he characterized it as a pivotal moment for the party, highlighting the orderly and credible manner in which the process was conducted as indicative of the political maturity and internal unity within the party’s structure in the region.

‘What we have built together is greater than a political platform; it is a unified family united by a shared vision for progress, not just for Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, but for the entirety of Enugu State,’ he remarked.

The chairman also praised the initiatives of President Bola Tinubu, commending his forward-thinking macroeconomic reforms that have significantly reshaped Nigeria's fiscal landscape. He stated, ‘These policies have empowered subnational governments with increased revenue, enabling the implementation of transformative infrastructure, social, and economic programs.’

Ukwueze remarked that the achievements witnessed in Enugu today are a result of conscious policy decisions, disciplined execution, and strategic partnerships with the federal government. He reaffirmed that the Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area remains committed to the APC’s vision, aspiring for grassroots advancement.
