Authorities in Ekiti State have brought charges against 35-year-old Tope Adeniyi in a Chief Magistrate Court located in Ado-Ekiti, related to accusations of fraud.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that the defendant fraudulently acquired N50,000 from Akinola Modupe during February 2026 in Ado- Ekiti.
Furthermore, ASP Oriyomi asserted that on the same date, at the same location, Adeniyi behaved in a way that could potentially disturb the peace.
According to the prosecutor, these alleged offenses are punishable under Sections 345 and 181(1)(d) of the Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria, 2021.
The defendant's attorney, Barrister Joy Egbuson, requested that the court grant bail, guaranteeing that her client would adhere to the bail terms.
Chief Magistrate Mr. Abayomi Adeosun approved bail set at N50,000, requiring one surety of similar value.
The proceeding has been postponed until April 13 for further examination.
