Authorities in Iran have called upon the public in the country's southwest to join the search for the crew of a United States fighter jet that crashed within Iranian territory. The government has also announced a reward for the capture of the pilot.

Footage broadcast on state television purportedly showed wreckage from the aircraft, with mangled metal parts being transported on a truck. This development comes amidst reports of recent military actions occurring across Israel, Iran, and various parts of the Persian Gulf.

Officials in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province have specifically appealed to local communities, including nomadic populations and villagers, to assist in finding the pilot. A public announcement stated that a substantial reward and bonus would be given to anyone who delivers the pilot to the authorities.

The Fars news agency in Iran reported that military units have already initiated a search operation to find the American pilot, who was allegedly shot down earlier in the day.

The United States Central Command, responsible for overseeing US military operations in the Middle East, has not yet provided a comment regarding the incident. Should this event be confirmed, it would represent the first documented instance of a US fighter jet being lost within Iran since the US initiated military actions against the country under the Trump administration.

There is some ambiguity regarding the exact model of the aircraft involved, with various sources suggesting it could be either an F-35 or an F-15E fighter jet. Major American news organizations, citing sources within the US and Israeli military, have indicated that a rescue operation might already be in progress.

Military analysts point out that pilots in such situations are trained to conceal themselves and use specific signaling methods to indicate their location in order to avoid capture. Standard survival equipment for pilots typically includes a radio beacon, essential medical supplies, food provisions, and a handgun, enabling them to endure challenging conditions while awaiting extraction.

This incident occurs in the wake of previous announcements by Iranian media claiming that efforts were made to target US aircraft in the region, although earlier footage showed jets evading such attempts without any apparent damage.
