The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John Tsoho, has expressed his intention to attend a meeting with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) regarding accusations related to the non-declaration of assets.

In an official statement released by Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, the court’s Director of Information, Justice Tsoho has urged the CCB to schedule a date for the meeting starting the week of March 16.

The statement clarified, "The Federal High Court of Nigeria wishes to clarify that the Honourable Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, remains fully committed to collaborating with the Code of Conduct Bureau regarding its invitation.

He also pointed out his constitutional right to consult with legal counsel of his choice, indicating that his lawyer, Kanu Godwin Agabi, CON, SAN, is prepared to accompany him to the Bureau once he returns to Nigeria due to ongoing medical treatment abroad.

This commitment has been formally conveyed to the Code of Conduct Bureau, confirming Justice Tsoho’s readiness to participate in the process in complete compliance with the law and established constitutional protocols.

For organizational reasons, the Bureau has been made aware that any date during the week commencing March 16, 2026, is preferable for him and his attorney. The Hon. Chief Judge asserts his unwavering commitment to due process, transparency, and respect for legal norms,” the letter detailed.

Justice Tsoho has faced allegations in a petition for allegedly failing to fully disclose his assets, including not declaring three accounts with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and one with Access Bank.

If evidence is found, the CCB may initiate charges against the Chief Judge, which could potentially lead to a conviction resulting in a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a decade-long prohibition from holding public office.
