Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has characterized the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a party of 'jokers' with no prospect of winning any election in Kano. Yusuf made these remarks while addressing supporters at the Government House in Kano, shortly after returning from the APC National Convention in Abuja and the party’s Northwest Zonal Congress in Kaduna.

The governor expressed strong confidence in securing a re-election under his new party, the APC, highlighting his administration's commitment to delivering democratic dividends. He stated, “There was only one term in the NNPP, and we will go for a second term in the APC. As for the ADC that they moved to, it will never have even a single term.”

He further emphasized that Kano and Nigeria are firmly aligned with the APC, declaring it the sole winning party. Governor Yusuf urged the people of Kano and Nigerians not to be swayed by any perceived strength of the ADC or other political groupings, dismissing them as incapable of making any significant political impact.

“You have in the last two to three years seen our efforts; if you give us another mandate, we will surely do more in terms of empowerment, infrastructural development, education which is our centre stage policy, health and agriculture with portable water supply across Kano,” he promised.

Yusuf commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in boosting the nation's economy and advancing infrastructure projects across different regions. “Mr President has been doing his best for this country. He has improved the economy and is working to ensure that infrastructure is provided across the zones within the available resources,” he stated.

The governor also declared that the people of Kano would lend their full support to President Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. “We in Kano State are fully behind Mr President and will support his re-election in 2027 by the grace of Allah,” he affirmed.

Governor Yusuf reiterated that the APC represents the dominant political force in Kano and Nigeria, capable of winning elections at all levels. He congratulated party members in Kano for the successful conclusion of the zonal congress and the national convention.

He pledged that his administration would maintain its focus on delivering essential services, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and the empowerment of youth and women.

Upon his arrival at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Governor Yusuf was met with an enthusiastic reception from supporters. Large crowds lined major routes, including Katsina Road, Emir’s Palace Road, and Sabon Bakin Zuwo Road, cheering and chanting party slogans as his convoy proceeded to the Government House, where he addressed the jubilant supporters.
