Ibrahim Mohammed, who serves as the sole House of Representatives member for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State, has announced his formal resignation from the party. He represents the Birnin Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza Federal Constituency and cites persistent leadership crises and internal disputes as his reasons for leaving the PDP.

In his declaration about exiting the party, Mohammed stated that the PDP has struggled with unresolved leadership issues and protracted legal battles, which have seriously hindered its functionalities as a credible political entity.

He further explained that the circumstances within the party have made it challenging for dedicated members to make substantial contributions towards its growth and the fulfillment of democratic duties.

After conducting extensive consultations with his constituents and significant political figures, he has decided to shift allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mohammed emphasized that joining the APC serves the best interests of his constituents and will improve his capacity for effective representation.

He confirmed that he has submitted his resignation letter to the PDP Ward Chairman in Nasarawa 1 Ward, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives has been formally informed of his defection.
