The Kogi State House of Assembly officially confirmed Abdullahi Bello, who previously served as the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the position of Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. This confirmation came after Governor Ahmed Ododo submitted a request for the appointment.

The legislative body’s approval signifies a significant step following a recent cabinet reshuffling, which saw the former commissioner, Ozigi Deedat, reassigned to the Ministry of Works.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Bello pledged to honour the confidence placed in him. He vowed to dedicate himself to advancing grassroots development and strengthening collaboration with the state's traditional institutions.
