The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 2,350 personnel across the state to ensure a secure environment during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The initiative, sanctioned by State Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, focuses on the protection of key national assets and the safety of residents throughout the 16 local government areas, especially given the heightened security measures associated with the festive period.
According to reports from Daily Trust, this decision follows a recent announcement from the Customs Area Command in Ilorin, which disclosed the confiscation of over 200 compressors that are typically utilized for the production of explosives.
The NSCDC further elaborated that security efforts will be strategically directed toward identified hotspots, high-risk routes, and other sensitive areas, backed by thorough threat assessments undertaken by the command.
