A woman of Fulani heritage has recently brought to light a series of unsettling encounters, sparking widespread discussion about the conduct of some herders.
She recounted an incident where a herder allegedly entered a private compound, felled a tree, and allowed his cattle to consume it. According to her account, the individual asserted his right to do so, citing the hunger of his livestock and reportedly refused to vacate the premises despite being confronted.
The situation, she noted, intensified following attempts at de-escalation, with the incident later being connected to retaliatory actions stemming from the Marhaba attack.
In a separate account, she shared a friend's experience where herders reportedly grazed their cattle on his crops and even sought access to his property, despite the area being fenced.
A video documenting these concerns has been shared online.
