Mr. Odunsi indicated that a total of 13 people were involved in the accident, consisting of 11 adult males and two adult females. Initial investigations suggest that a combination of a burst tyre and excessive speed led to the driver losing control of the vehicle.

The injured passengers were transported to Famobis Hospital for immediate medical attention, while the bodies of those who perished have been taken to the Idera morgue.
