Minibus drivers, popularly referred to as Korokpe operators, have taken to the streets in Lagos to express their grievances over a recently enacted restriction on their services as mandated by the state government.
The drivers argue that this policy has severely impacted their ability to earn a living, leaving many unable to fulfill their daily financial responsibilities.
In their statements, the operators highlighted that the ban has also resulted in significant transport deficiencies across multiple areas in Lagos, forcing commuters to face challenges with limited transportation options and increased travel costs.
In light of these challenges, the protesters are calling for immediate negotiations with the state authorities, urging them to either reconsider the directive or propose a viable solution that would enable them to resume operations while safeguarding their income.
