A legal battle is unfolding concerning the estate of the late actor Michael Madsen, with authorities in Los Angeles County asserting that he had accrued over $1.2 million in unpaid child support for his ex-wife.
Court documents reveal that the Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department has filed a claim stating that Madsen was indebted to Jeannine Bisignano in the amount of $1,267,573.49. This sum reportedly stems from child support obligations established during their divorce proceedings, which began in 1995, and is also said to include a portion of payments due from his Screen Actors Guild pension.
Madsen, recognized for his roles in acclaimed films like “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill,” passed away in July 2025 due to cardiac arrest. Following his death, a disagreement has arisen over who should be appointed to manage his estate.
Bisignano has reportedly petitioned the court to gain control of the estate, aiming to facilitate the recovery of the outstanding payments she contends are owed to her. In opposition, the actor’s sons, Christian and Max Madsen, have also submitted a petition seeking to be granted the authority to administer their father’s estate.
A court session is anticipated to address the matter and decide who will be granted legal authority over Madsen's estate, as the financial and legal intricacies of his post-mortem affairs are deliberated.
