Authorities from the Ondo State police force have detained a man named Johnson Daniel, who is accused of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old boy, Ariyo Timilehin, in Owo, within the Owo Local Government Area.
According to a statement from the police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the incident occurred on March 6.
Initial investigations reveal that the stabbing took place during an argument between the suspect and the victim.
"The command has confirmed the apprehension of a suspect in connection with the alleged murder of Ariyo Amos Timilehin following a violent altercation in Owo on March 6, 2026," Jimoh stated.
He further reported that the victim was transported to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo, where medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Jimoh also indicated that police detectives examined the crime scene and retrieved the knife believed to have been used in the attack. Following this, the suspect was taken into custody.
"The case has since been forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department for deeper inquiry," he added.
