Authorities from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) have arrested a man following accusations made by his ex-girlfriend on social media, where she alleged that he physically assaulted her and broke her finger.
The agency reported that after a video of the incident circulated widely online, they promptly contacted the woman and facilitated a formal report to the appropriate law enforcement agencies. Preliminary investigations revealed that the alleged assault took place on Saturday, March 21, and was registered at the FESTAC Police Station's Tactical Squad. The case is currently being handled by the Family Support Unit (FSU) at the same station.
According to the victim, her former partner physically attacked her, resulting in significant injuries, including finger loss.
In an official statement, the agency indicated, "The alleged assailant was arrested and the case is under thorough investigation by the relevant law enforcement bodies. On March 25, 2026, the matter was brought before the Court at MBA Ajegunle, Court 6. The accused has been remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre while awaiting further legal proceedings. Bail was set at N200,000 with two sureties required, and the next court date is scheduled for April 29, 2026."
