Man Suspected of Stabbing Cousin to Death and Injuring Two Others in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has initiated a search for an individual who stands accused of killing his cousin and injuring two others amid a violent confrontation in Tingno District, Lamurde Local Government Area.

The altercation transpired around 6:00 p.m. on February 17, 2026, following a reported disagreement between Begam Damdam and his cousin, Kawarijo Thomas, both of whom reside in the Garin Maitunku community.

Reports indicate that Damdam allegedly stabbed Thomas in the chest, leading to his death, and also inflicted stab wounds on two additional individuals, identified as Thomas Demdem and Robert Yohanna, affecting their hands.

Responding to a distress call at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers from the Tingno Division arrived at the location, where they transported the victims to the General Hospital in Numan for medical attention.

Thomas was pronounced dead upon arrival, with his body sent for an autopsy, while the injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment.

The police have stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect, and they have instructed the Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter.
