The highly anticipated exhibition boxing match featuring legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is officially scheduled.

As reported by Mike Coppinger from The Ring, there are plans for Tyson and Mayweather Jr. to face off on April 25 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Muhammad Ali famously fought George Foreman in the historic 'Rumble in the Jungle.'

Last September, Tyson took to social media to announce he had agreed to challenge fellow Hall of Fame inductee Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition match organized by CSI Sports/Fight Sports, reaffirming its authenticity in February.

"Yes, that's happening," Tyson remarked about the forthcoming duel in an interview with TMZ Sports. "Do you think I'd let that slip away? I was simply going about my business when he issued the challenge."

Tyson was last seen in the ring in November 2024 when he lost to Jake Paul by unanimous decision in a professionally sanctioned fight.

Mayweather Jr., on the other hand, has not participated in a professional bout since he defeated Conor McGregor in 2017. However, he has engaged in several exhibition matches, with his most recent one being against John Gotti III in August 2024.

Mobutu Nzanga Ngbangawe, the Vice Premier Minister of Congo, confirmed the match's date and location through social media. "I'm thrilled to announce the great news from @MikeCoppinger of @RingMagazine that boxing legends @MikeTyson and @FloydMayweather will meet in an exhibition match on April 25th in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, paying tribute to the legacy of the Rumble in the Jungle 52 years later," he posted on X.
