The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu's administration is diligently constructing a solid foundation designed for long-term economic growth and widespread prosperity.

Minister Idris made these remarks during a meeting with representatives from Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027, who paid him a courtesy visit. This statement was subsequently detailed in a press release issued in Abuja by Malam Rabiu Ibrahim, the minister's Special Assistant on Media.

According to the minister, these strategic actions were undertaken with the specific goals of stabilizing the national economy and reinstating confidence among stakeholders. He articulated that the current progress represents the foundational work necessary for achieving sustained growth and shared prosperity in the nation.

"The improving economic outlook for Nigeria must be safeguarded through national unity, thoughtful communication, and unified support for government policies," Idris advised. He cautioned that the dissemination of inaccurate or misleading information about the country can negatively impact investor confidence and impede developmental progress.

"We have a collective duty to speak positively and truthfully about Nigeria. When we project an image of stability and unity, we become more attractive to investors, thereby creating valuable opportunities for our citizens," Idris stated.

The minister commended the GAT 2027 organization for their active civic participation and for embracing the responsibility of disseminating accurate public information. He also expressed enthusiasm for the group's proposed collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information and the National Orientation Agency, focusing on areas such as public awareness campaigns, youth involvement, and strategic communication efforts.

Idris highlighted the crucial role that advocacy groups play in ensuring government policies effectively reach the grassroots level. He further underscored the indispensable nature of effective communication for maintaining national stability and fostering development.

Furthermore, the minister reiterated the President's unwavering dedication to ensuring Nigeria functions beneficially for all its citizens, irrespective of their religious beliefs or backgrounds. Idris assured the visiting delegation that the ministry is committed to partnering with reputable organizations to guarantee the widespread dissemination of accurate information.

In his address, the National Coordinator for GAT 2027, Prof. Ochugudu Ipuele, explained that the group's visit was intended to formally update the minister on their ongoing activities and to express their solidarity with his mission to inform Nigerians and provide clarity on government policies.

"We are here to lend our support to your mandate for Nigeria, which involves informing the populace, clarifying governmental policies, and extending information to the grassroots level," Prof. Ipuele stated. He affirmed the group's commitment to backing President Bola Tinubu's policies by actively countering distorted narratives, particularly during election cycles, and by engaging with the youth demographic.
