Leeh Setlholoeng-Mojakgolo, a woman from South Africa, recently commemorated the sixth anniversary of her young daughter, Boineelo Fortunate's, suicide.
In a heartfelt post shared on Facebook on March 28, 2026, she recounted the traumatic moment she found her daughter's lifeless body hanging from a tree.
Leeh revealed that this tragic episode and the deep sense of loss it brought about resulted in her being admitted to a psychiatric hospital.
"Me versus the girl who led me straight to psychiatric care after I discovered her lifeless body hanging on a tree," she wrote.
She remembered her daughter as someone who taught her the depths of unconditional love. "A girl who called me Mom."
"It’s been six years, Nana, and there are days when I sob uncontrollably because that tragic event has overshadowed most of the joyful moments we shared together."
"When I think of you, I am reminded only of that dreadful day. I visualize the agony you felt, so tiny and yet so overwhelmed, when you made that irreversible decision!"
"I still recall the frantic efforts I made to revive you single-handedly despite having a cast on my left arm. But alas, I love you just the same, Boineelo Fortunate."
