Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, who served as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kano State, has officially resigned from his role within the State Executive Council.
In a statement released on Monday, Kwankwaso conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for granting him the opportunity to be part of the administration.
“It is with deep regret that I announce my resignation as the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and a member of the Kano State Executive Council,” the statement indicated.
He expressed his gratitude toward the governor for the trust shown in him and highlighted that his period in office provided him with invaluable experiences and lessons while serving the citizens of Kano State.
Kwankwaso stated, “I want to extend my sincere thanks to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the chance to serve the wonderful people of Kano State. The experiences and lessons I have gained here have been cherished, and I appreciate the faith placed in me.”
He also articulated his hope that the sectors of youth and sports would receive ongoing support under the current administration and emphasized the necessity for sustained investments in youth empowerment and sports development.
“As I step down, I hope that the youth of Kano State will continue to receive the necessary attention and backing they deserve. I envision positive outcomes for our sports development programs and initiatives, and I am confident they will prosper in the coming years,” he remarked.
Kwankwaso concluded by offering prayers for the state and its leadership, wishing for continued blessings upon Kano State. “May Allah (SWT) continue to shower His blessings on our cherished Kano State. I wish the government and people of the state every success,” the statement concluded.
His departure occurs amidst ongoing political shifts within the Kano State Government, following Governor Yusuf's recent departure from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
