The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) is urging Nigerian youths to embrace Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a means to acquire employable skills, entrepreneurial abilities, and practical knowledge essential for the country's growth.
Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, made these remarks in a statement released by the board's spokesperson, Uchechukwu Olisah, concerning the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for technical colleges nationwide.
He emphasized that TVET acts as an important avenue for skills development, job creation, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, asserting that it equips young individuals with practical skills necessary for economic independence and national advancement.
"TVET provides the skills for employment and the entrepreneurial capabilities vital for development. We encourage Nigerians to opt for skills training, seize opportunities, and secure their futures by enrolling in technical institutions," he stated.
Dr. Mohammed also expressed NABTEB's commitment to conducting a seamless and transparent registration process for the 2026 NCEE across the country. He revealed that the board has implemented robust administrative and technological frameworks to ensure a straightforward and hassle-free registration experience for candidates, parents, guardians, and educational institutions.
"These initiatives are aimed at removing obstacles, improving nationwide access, and maintaining the highest standards of examination integrity," he added. He further noted that this policy will alleviate financial and logistical pressures on parents and guardians, enabling educational institutions to effectively support candidates throughout the registration process.
