The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) revealed on Friday that it has secured the capacity to provide Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for a minimum of 100,000 Nigerian citizens. This initiative is part of NECA's broader strategy to foster technological advancement within the country, with the association indicating a significant pivot towards investing heavily in AI.
This announcement was made during a visit by NECA's delegation, led by its Director-General Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, to the headquarters of Media Trust Group in Abuja. Oyerinde highlighted that the upcoming Employer Summit, scheduled for June 29th and 30th in Abuja, would enter its fifth edition. He described the summit as the premier advocacy platform for employers, focusing specifically on business and economic matters.
During the visit, Oyerinde expressed NECA's desire for a partnership with Daily Trust. He sought to leverage the media outlet's influence and reach to enhance the summit's impact. The goal, he stated, was to explore collaborative opportunities where Daily Trust could play a significant role.
In his response, Ibrahim Shehu, the Editorial Director at Media Trust Group, acknowledged the existing relationship between his organization and NECA. He affirmed Media Trust Group's readiness to provide the necessary media support for the successful hosting of this year's conference.
