New Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, Assumes Office with Strong Warning Against Corruption

The new Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has formally begun his tenure at the command's headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. He takes over from Lanre Ogunlowo, who has been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

During his address at the command headquarters, CP Ojajuni declared a strict policy of zero tolerance for any abuse of office, lack of discipline, disrespect towards the public, human rights violations, and corrupt practices within his command. He emphasized that such actions would not be permitted under his leadership.

Bode Ojajuni assumes office as the new Commissioner of Police for Ogun State.

Ojajuni urged the officers to consistently demonstrate professionalism and treat members of the public with dignity and respect in all their official dealings. He highlighted that discipline is the cornerstone of the Nigeria Police Force and assured that indiscipline among personnel would not be tolerated. He stressed the importance of professionalism and adherence to the rule of law as defining principles for the conduct of all officers and men.

"I implore all officers and men to treat members of the public with dignity, courtesy, and the utmost respect. We must remain professional in the discharge of our duties. Respect, as they say, is reciprocal. Therefore, I also urge members of the public to engage with the Police and other security agencies with civility and mutual respect. See us as partners and work hand in hand with us in our shared responsibility of maintaining law and order," he stated.

Furthermore, the Commissioner announced the reinforcement and full deployment of the X-Squad and the Police Monitoring Unit to ensure internal discipline and maintain professional standards among the ranks. He made it clear that there would be no sanctuary for misconduct.

"Let me reiterate that the few bad eggs within our ranks will not be allowed to drag the good name of the Force into disrepute. I encourage both officers and members of the public to remain vigilant and report any wrongdoing through the appropriate channels," Ojajuni added.

He assured the residents of Ogun State that their safety and security remain his paramount concern. He pledged to be accessible, responsive, and dedicated to implementing proactive policing strategies designed to ensure safety and security throughout the state.
