Nigeria is gearing up to host a significant investment summit in London this June, focusing on its climate transition agenda and recent policy advancements, including its newly established carbon market framework. This initiative, named the Nigeria Climate Investment Summit (NCIS), is part of a series of global engagements organized by SOStainability and GLOBE Legislators as a special segment within the 2026 London Climate Action Week (LCAW).

The summit's primary objective is to position Nigeria to capitalize on the substantial investment promotion and climate financing opportunities available through LCAW. It aims to convene a diverse group of stakeholders, including investors, international finance institutions, policymakers, regulators, innovators, climate advocates, the global business community, and investment- ready nations.

The event is structured to facilitate a comprehensive exploration of opportunities in climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. It will feature several curated segments such as policy dialogues, technical presentations, investment showcases, and innovation exhibitions, alongside targeted investor engagements designed to match funding with viable market opportunities.

The summit is expected to yield a pipeline of productive and sustainable outcomes, fostering collaborations and exchanges in areas like climate financing, abatement technologies, community resilience, and technical assistance. These efforts will support the implementation of Nigeria's carbon market framework and contribute to achieving its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Senior Nigerian officials, including climate regulators and legislators, alongside private sector leaders from the UK, Europe, and the Global North, are expected to attend. The summit will also draw participation from international and development finance institutions, foreign parliamentarians, and policy leaders within the GLOBE network.

SOStainability expressed enthusiasm for co-hosting the summit with GLOBE Legislators, highlighting its role as a crucial platform for Nigeria to engage with global capital for climate finance, green investments, innovative technologies, and knowledge exchange. This engagement is vital for advancing Nigeria's climate ambitions, particularly its carbon market framework and other policy initiatives.

The partnership between GLOBE Legislators and SOStainability intends to strengthen Nigeria's standing as a leader in climate policy formulation and implementation within the Global South and beyond. The summit's integration into LCAW is strategic, leveraging London's status as a global hub for climate transition action, diplomacy, and finance.

The Nigeria Climate Investment Summit is designed to stimulate meaningful discussions and secure essential investments and tailored technical partnerships. These will be focused on Nigeria's recently launched carbon market framework and its updated NDCs.

GLOBE, the Global Legislators Organisation for a Balanced Environment, is a non-partisan body committed to enhancing climate governance worldwide. SOStainability is an enterprise focused on promoting sustainability and responsible climate action across various sectors, including businesses, communities, governments, and non-governmental entities.
