Nigerian Army Opens Recruitment Portal for Regular Recruits

The Nigerian Army has launched the recruitment portal for its 91 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply free of charge. The recruitment period runs from March 30 to May 17, and applicants are advised to be wary of fraudsters.

The Nigerian Army has announced the opening of online registration for its 91 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI), which is aimed at both trade and non-trade personnel.

As stated in an official announcement shared on its Facebook page, the recruitment exercise will take place from March 30 to May 17, and is available to eligible Nigerian citizens. The army has underscored that the application process is entirely free and cautioned prospective applicants to be on guard against imposters.

To qualify for recruitment, candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth, unmarried, and have in their possession a valid National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN). They must also meet the medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards without any prior criminal history.

Educational prerequisites include achieving at least four credits, including English language, in no more than two sittings of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), General Certificate of Education (GCE), the National Examinations Council (NECO), or the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

Additionally, applicants for trade positions must hold relevant trade or guild certifications as required by the Army.

Age criteria stipulate that non-trades applicants should be between 18 to 22 years old, while trade applicants cannot be older than 26 by June 30. Furthermore, minimum height requirements are set at 1.68 meters for male candidates and 1.65 meters for females.

The Army also indicated that selected candidates will face screening in their respective state of origin from June 9 to June 23.

Candidates were urged to complete the online application via the official recruitment portal and to print out necessary documents, including guarantor forms. The Army has warned against the submission of fraudulent documents, which could lead to legal consequences.

Highlighting the benefits of joining the Army, the announcement included career advancement opportunities, competitive salaries, access to educational and training resources, healthcare benefits, and pensions upon retirement.

The Army called on interested candidates to apply as soon as possible and to follow the stipulated guidelines strictly. They emphasized that there would be no designated recruitment centers and that no computer-based pre-selection tests would be conducted for this recruitment exercise.
