He reported that the troops were alerted on March 27th via a distress call concerning the kidnapping of two females by armed assailants. The military quickly mobilized forces, alongside local vigilantes, to conduct a search and rescue mission aimed at freeing the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.

The suspects reportedly abandoned the captives and fled upon realizing they were being surrounded by the security forces. The victims were subsequently rescued and safely returned to their families.

According to the statement, the victims were found at approximately 8:30 pm on March 28th, after the abductors relinquished them due to the intense pressure from the ongoing operation.

Captain Anyanwu further indicated that efforts are continuing to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects, with the objective of dismantling their criminal operations in the region.
