Nigerian Troops Liberate Two Minors From Suspected Terrorist Encampment in Borno

Military forces in Borno State have successfully rescued two young boys who reportedly fled a suspected terrorist camp in the Dusula area. The minors, aged 15 and 10, were discovered in Azir village after being alerted by the local head.

Elements of the 25 Brigade, stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Azir in Borno State's Damboa Local Government Area, have conducted a successful rescue operation. They have brought to safety two adolescent boys who are believed to have escaped from a terrorist stronghold in Dusula.

A military source communicated to security analyst Zagazola Makama that the development began around 10:00 a.m. on April 1, 2026. This followed an alert from the village head of Azir regarding the unusual presence of two minors in the community.

The source further indicated that troops swiftly responded to the village and apprehended the youngsters, who were subsequently transported to the Forward Operating Base for initial questioning.

The rescued individuals have been identified as Abuna Yammadu Kala, aged 15, and Abulkaka Yammadu Kala, aged 10.

According to the source, the children explained that they chose to flee the camp due to the severe conditions and their fear for their own safety.
