A number of Nigerian women have shared their thoughts after human rights attorney Inibehe Effiong discussed his experiences with paternity fraud cases.

Others shifted the blame onto men, suggesting that their failure to appear attractive or their lack of religious practices such as prayer and fasting were reasons for their wives’ infidelity, critiquing the tendency of some men to hold women responsible for their husbands' unfaithfulness.

One commenter, Ifeoma Ojeifo, expressed, "DNA testing is not part of African culture. Paternity tests are a foreign concept aimed at disrupting family life. Any true African man accepts all children born to his wife."

Another commentator, Stephanie Nnadi, added, "If a man finds out his wife has a child with someone else, he must earnestly pray for her. He should try to rekindle intimacy by being more affectionate and attentive. It’s vital that he forgives and moves on for the sake of their marriage."

Roberta Edu stated, "Perhaps the man was unfaithful too, expecting to have it all while being unaware that he chose a partner who might do the same. Instead of seeking legal remedies, he ought to pray about the situation and focus on being more appealing to his partner."

Another user pointed out that some men neglect their appearance and health after marriage, suggesting they should strive to keep fit and adhere to grooming to please their wives.

Ultimately, she emphasized that culturally, any child born to a married woman is recognized as belonging to her husband, urging them to remember their cultural values."
