Northern Governors Acknowledge Tinubu's Reforms as Steps Towards Progress

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), who is also the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has stated that the reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu, despite their difficulties, are paving the way for progress in the country.

Inuwa expressed the forum’s backing for Tinubu while appreciating his reform- focused leadership as he celebrated his 74th birthday.

In a statement released on Sunday by the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Government House in Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor noted on behalf of his fellow governors that Tinubu’s stewardship is courageous, purposeful, and essential for Nigeria's long-term stability and economic rejuvenation.

The governor pointed out that since taking office, the President has exhibited a strong commitment to implementing expansive reforms intended to revamp the economy and fortify critical institutions.

He acknowledged the inherent challenges and sacrifices stemming from these reforms but maintained that they are vital steps toward establishing a more stable and prosperous future for the Nigerian populace.

Inuwa remarked that the President's “Renewed Hope Agenda” has been instrumental in restoring citizens' trust while establishing a clear pathway for inclusive growth, national unity, and sustainable development.

The NSGF chairman emphasized that Gombe State, along with other northern states, is dedicated to facilitating the effective execution of the President's policies and initiatives.

“The decisive actions taken by Mr. President reflect a leadership inspired by conviction and a sincere ambition for a better future for our country. Although these reforms are challenging, they are already establishing a solid foundation for sustainable advancement,” he stated.

He further affirmed the unyielding support of the northern governors for continuing the President’s reform agenda beyond the current administration.

“Here in Gombe State, together with our colleagues in the Northern States Governors’ Forum, we value your backing of state governments and your inclusive governance approach. We firmly stand with you and restate our steadfast support for your leadership and vision, both now and in the future,” he added.

Governor Inuwa also wished President Tinubu continued good health, strength, and wisdom as he navigates the governance of the nation.
