The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has conveyed his profound sorrow following the death of Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, who served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Arewa Traders Association and was the National President of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria.
Alhaji Bature, a prominent Kano-based business figure, passed away over the weekend.
On behalf of his fellow governors, Yahaya characterized the passing of the esteemed businessman as a significant loss, extending beyond his immediate family and the commercial sector to encompass Northern Nigeria and the nation as a whole, recognizing his substantial contributions to commerce, trade advancement, and private sector development.
Governor Yahaya recalled a recent visit by the late Alhaji Bature to Gombe State, during which he accompanied a group of traders and investors to tour vital industrial zones, including the expansive Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Dadinkowa, which spans 1,000 hectares.
As detailed in a press statement released by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General of Press Affairs, the governor noted that "The departed individual expressed considerable admiration for the scope and potential of the industrial park, with discussions indicating prospects for future investments."
Concurrently, the NSGF has issued a strong denunciation of the murder of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Dorayi Chiranci community of Kano State, describing the incident as savage, distressing, and entirely unacceptable.
The Chairman of the NSGF extended heartfelt sympathies to the matriarch of the family affected and all others impacted by this tragic event, emphasizing that such acts of violence undermine the fundamental principles of humanity and societal order.
He lauded the Nigeria Police Force for the prompt apprehension of the alleged perpetrators and urged law enforcement agencies to conduct thorough investigations and ensure the prosecution of those responsible, underscoring the necessity of justice to prevent similar atrocities in the future.
