The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, who died early Wednesday in Egypt.
In a statement conveying condolences, the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, characterised the late Speaker's death as a painful and significant loss, not only for Kebbi State but also for the broader democratic and legislative community across the North.
Governor Yahaya acknowledged the late Muhammad Zuru as a skilled legislator, a figure who brought stability to governance, and a dedicated national leader, who served his constituents with exceptional commitment, foresight, and humility.
According to a press release from Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Government House, the late Speaker was noted for his distinguished record of selfless service, his adherence to democratic principles, and his unwavering dedication to the advancement and development of Kebbi State.
The governor extended heartfelt sympathies to the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Nasir Idris, the immediate family of the deceased, the members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, and the Zuru Emirate Council on this deeply regrettable loss.
Governor Yahaya offered prayers for the repose of the deceased's soul, asking Allah to forgive his imperfections, reward his lifetime of contributions to humanity, and grant him eternal peace in paradise (AljannatFirdaus).
