An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has tragically lost his life during the distribution of Ramadan and Sallah palliatives in the Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident took place on Friday during an event organized by Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the representative for the Doguwa/Tudun Wada constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement, the lawmaker confirmed the incident, alleging that the officer was killed when hoodlums attempted to disrupt the distribution process.
Doguwa expressed his shock regarding this unfortunate event, labeling it a significant loss. He extended his condolences to the Civil Defence Corps, the family of the deceased officer, and the residents of Tudun Wada.
“May Allah grant him mercy and forgiveness,” he stated, emphasizing the need for security agencies to promptly initiate a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Furthermore, he cautioned against the dissemination of false claims and defamatory statements linking him to the incident, affirming that he would take legal measures to safeguard his reputation and that of his constituents.
Doguwa concluded by offering prayers for the deceased officer, urging the public to remain vigilant during public gatherings and highlighted his personal involvement in distributing food items and other support materials to the community.
