Obi Cubana has officially taken on the role of South-East Regional Director for the City Boy Movement (CBM), a political initiative directed at youth engagement and aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The presentation of his appointment letter took place during a strategic forum overseen by Seyi Tinubu.

The confirmation of this appointment was made during a CBM strategic forum last week, an event that was documented on social media. Seyi Tinubu, who is the patron of the movement and the son of President Bola Tinubu, presented the letter to Cubana in the presence of significant stakeholders and leaders within the movement.

At the gathering, Seyi acknowledged the impact of Cubana among young Nigerians and praised his backing of the current government.

"I want to start by showing gratitude for your support towards Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and for the youth in Nigeria, especially in the Southern region," he expressed.

He formally made the announcement of Cubana’s new position, adding, "On behalf of the City Boy Movement, we are proud to present you with your appointment letter as the regional director of the South East for City Boy, and we extend our congratulations."

Seyi Tinubu elaborated on the organization’s goals, emphasizing the commitment to collaboration, leadership development, and fostering national unity, which are essential for achieving the objectives put forth by President Tinubu’s administration. This will be driven through youth involvement and grassroots mobilization.

The City Boy Movement was launched in 2022 as a support framework for President Bola Tinubu's electoral campaign. It has since transformed into an expansive initiative aimed at mobilizing, educating, and empowering young people and women regarding governmental policies and reforms as outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.

As part of its mission, CBM seeks to enhance awareness regarding government achievements, improve understanding of policies, and establish a robust grassroots coalition that will uphold democratic continuity and foster national development across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

The ceremony had the participation of several CBM officials and prominent business figures, including Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, the Director-General of CBM; Favour Abayomi, the National Coordinator; and Stanley Uzochukwu, the Chairman of Stanel Group.

In the wake of President Tinubu’s electoral success, the movement has broadened its framework by designating state directors and local coordinators to effectively communicate major policy changes such as the removal of fuel subsidies and other economic reforms to Nigerians at the community level.

With Obi Cubana's appointment as the South-East Director, the City Boy Movement highlights a renewed effort to enhance its grassroots presence in the region. This move aims to utilize Cubana’s network among the youth and entrepreneurs to boost civic engagement, convey policy messages, and support national development strategies associated with the Renewed Hope vision.
