Ogun Police Provide Update on Viral Video Alleging Rape of Young Girl

The Ogun State Police Command has announced that it has initiated an inquiry into the viral video involving a young woman identified as Mirabel, who alleged she was raped by an unknown man within her home.

Speaking to LIB, Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi stated that upon receiving details about the situation, the command instructed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ibafo Division to reach out to the victim without delay.

"She was able to file a report at the Ibafo Police Station today, where the details of the case were documented. Initial investigations indicated that the reported incident took place in the Ogijo area.

She was swiftly taken to a medical facility for examination and immediate care. After receiving initial treatment, she was transferred to the Ogijo Police Station—within the relevant jurisdiction—for thorough documentation and to further advance the investigative process.

Due to her vulnerable state, the victim has been referred for comprehensive medical treatment to assist her healing and to aid the ongoing investigation," Babaseyi mentioned.

He further emphasized that the command is fully dedicated to ensuring her safety and wellbeing, as well as pursuing justice diligently in this case.
