A user on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has brought to light a situation concerning online authenticity, detailing an experience involving an event planner.

The user shared that they had put forward a recommendation for an event planner operating in Lagos for a job valued at over $7,000. This recommendation was made after the user observed the planner's work on X.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the potential client decided against proceeding with the booking. The client's reason was that the person who arrived for the service did not resemble the individual showcased on the planner's online profile.

In an attempt to understand the discrepancy, the user reportedly contacted the event planner. The planner is said to have confirmed her identity but explained that her online photos and videos had been digitally altered, resulting in a lighter skin tone than her actual complexion.
