The Peoples Democratic Party Youth Agenda (PDPYA), a youth organisation within the party, has expressed its appreciation for the leadership and dedication of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in his endeavours to rebuild and reposition the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for electoral success.

Concurrently, the Kwara State Chairman of the PDP, Issa Bawa Adamu, has urged party stakeholders to foster a united front in preparing the PDP to serve as a strong alternative option ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released in Ilorin and endorsed by its National Coordinator, Hon. Kazeem Adekanye, and National Founding Patron, Comrade Preye J. Ketebu- Brown, the PDPYA stated, “The contributions of PDP leader, Mr. Wike, towards restoring the PDP to its winning trajectory are undeniably significant to the party’s advancement.”

The group also extended congratulations to the newly elected National Executive Committee of the PDP, under the leadership of Chairman Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed.

“We applaud the seamless and successful conclusion of our great party’s recent National Convention, which underscores the resilience and solidarity of our members,” the statement further noted.

PDPYA, established in 2017 as a national youth movement within the party, affirmed its participation in the convention and acknowledged the support from party members, particularly Wike’s involvement.

“The reconciliation initiatives championed by Chief Nyesom Wike have been crucial in fostering internal unity within the party. We firmly believe that a collaborative approach between the new leadership and foundational stakeholders represents the most effective strategy for rebuilding and repositioning the PDP for future triumphs,” the statement declared.

The organisation reiterated its dedication to mobilising Nigerian youths under the PDP banner to revive the party’s fortunes and advance its agenda for national progress.

Separately, Adamu, speaking at the second anniversary of the PDP Kwara Central Strategy Team (KCST) in Ilorin, highlighted the critical importance of unity within the party.

“The PDP’s strength in Kwara will be determined by our collective efforts across different generations, local government areas, and diverse interests. Internal harmony is our most valuable asset as we prepare for the future,” he remarked.

He elaborated, “Looking ahead, our mission is clear: we must rebuild public trust, broaden our reach, and present a compelling vision that resonates with all citizens of Kwara.”

Adamu also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to integrating young people, stressing that opportunities must be provided for them to contribute and assume leadership roles.

“Your energy requires corresponding opportunities,” he stated.

He outlined major challenges confronting young Nigerians, including insecurity, job scarcity, and the escalating cost of living, emphasizing that the PDP must establish itself as a credible alternative capable of offering practical solutions.

Earlier, the President of the KCST, Mr. Olayinka Oladimeji Slam, disclosed that the group had provided financial assistance for over 20 students undertaking West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams and 50 students for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations in Kwara Central.

He noted that this initiative would bolster educational development in the region, while the group had also encouraged residents to register to vote, thereby enhancing the party’s electoral prospects.
