Abuja is currently hosting a host of prominent leaders and international dignitaries as the 50th Murtala Muhammed International Lecture and Leadership Conference commences.
Murtala Muhammed served as Nigeria’s leader from July 1975 until February 1976 when he was tragically assassinated.
Among the esteemed attendees are former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo accompanied by his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo.
Also present are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II; Hajia Ajoke Muhammed, the widow of the late Head of State; and Dr. Isha Mohammed Oyebade, daughter of the late leader.
The event has garnered international participation, with notable figures including Malawian President Joyce Banda, former Ghanaian President John Kufuor, and Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma joining the proceedings.
Furthermore, professionals from various sectors, including those from the diplomatic community and academia, are also in attendance.
