Operatives of the Kebbi State Police Command have reported the elimination of a terrorist associated with the Lakurawa group. The police also successfully recovered 33 cows that the bandits had attempted to steal. The incident took place on the Kamba-Kangiwa road in the Dandi Local Government Area of the state.
The armed criminals reportedly raided a farmhouse in the vicinity, making off with the livestock. However, a combined force of police and the Army's Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kamba intercepted them, compelling the terrorists to abandon the rustled animals.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, one of the terrorists was killed during the confrontation, while another managed to escape with injuries sustained from gunshots. The police confirmed that all 33 cows were safely recovered and have since been returned to their rightful owner.
"Efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing," the statement added. The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar M. Hadejia, commended the operatives for their swift reaction and effective collaborative efforts in resolving the situation.
