Police Seize 558 Cattle from Suspected Rustlers in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command's Rapid Response Squad has successfully retrieved 558 cattle from 16 individuals suspected of cattle rustling. The suspects were reportedly fleeing from law enforcement actions in Kwara State.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State Police Command has successfully recovered 558 cattle from 16 individuals suspected of being involved in cattle rustling.

It is important to note that the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps had earlier detained some suspects from Kwara State who were reportedly attempting to relocate to Ekiti.

These suspects were noticed in significant numbers with their herds near Gede Farm settlement in Isan-Ekiti, creating chaos in the area.

Upon questioning, the suspects admitted to fleeing from Kwara State due to heightened efforts against banditry, expressing involvement in cattle rustling, particularly targeting local Kwara residents who own cattle in that region.

During the interrogation process, 16 suspects were taken into custody, along with various items including cash, seven techno phones, an assortment of charms, three VGN ID cards, and the herds of cattle that were recovered from them.
