Sanwo-Olu Expresses Confidence in Nigeria's Future Under Tinubu

The Lagos State administration has shown optimism that Nigeria will navigate its present challenges successfully with Bola Ahmed Tinubu leading the country.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu conveyed this message during a special prayer gathering organized to celebrate President Tinubu’s 74th birthday and to bolster his campaign for re-election, which took place at the Lagos Secretariat Community Central Mosque.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney- General, Lawal Pedro, SAN, expressed gratitude to the people of Lagos and Nigeria for their unwavering backing of the president and highlighted a positive outlook on the nation's future.

He called on citizens to stay involved in the democratic process, advising against complacency regarding Tinubu’s political trajectory.

Sanwo-Olu encouraged eligible voters to acquire their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively partake in the forthcoming elections, emphasizing the necessity for ongoing engagement ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

The governor also touched on the ongoing discussions regarding the establishment of state police, revealing that proposed operational frameworks have been submitted to the National Assembly. He urged patience and confidence in the administration's strategic long-term vision, stressing that significant national advancement necessitates time and meaningful dedication.

During the event, Abdullahi Jebe, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters (Islam), explained that the prayer session was held to recognize Tinubu’s valuable contributions to society.

He highlighted the president’s role as a mentor to many and the foundational framework he laid for governance, especially during his past tenure as the governor of Lagos State.

Jebe reinforced the significance of praying for national leaders, urging Nigerians to lend their support to initiatives promoting national progress.

Chairman of the mosque, Engr. Hafis Toriola, shared that the event’s purpose was not only to honor the president but also to pray for the stability and growth of the country. He remarked that this gathering resonates with religious directives that encourage prayers for leaders.

According to Toriola, the prayers extended to cover important state officials and the nation, focusing on seeking divine guidance, protection, and wisdom for leaders at all levels to foster development and enhance the well-being of citizens.
