Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is intensifying initiatives to solidify the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) within Kwara State.
In the past week, Saraki convened gatherings with party officials, ward executives, and other stakeholders across the Ilorin West and Ilorin East Local Government Areas.
The meetings, which took place around Iftar and Maghrib prayers, centered on enhancing grassroots organization and increasing voter registration efforts in preparation for the upcoming 2027 elections.
Officials characterized these interactions as a strategic move to sustain active communication with party members, fostering unity, vigilance, and proactive involvement throughout the state.
Addressing party members, Saraki emphasized the importance of organization and mobilization to achieve electoral success. "We must maintain a collective focus on organization, mobilization, and ensuring that our supporters are effectively registered," he asserted.
Ward representatives provided updates on local initiatives and pledged their dedication to fortifying the party's grassroots framework. He also engaged with former councillors, supervising councillors, and past local government chairpersons, advocating for reconciliation and unity within the PDP.
"The PDP remains a shared home for us all. Let us put our differences aside and work together moving forward," he added.
In a separate engagement on Thursday, Saraki interacted with young women from Ilorin South LGA, highlighting the significance of youth and women’s participation in leadership roles.
Additionally, he continued his humanitarian efforts through the Ile-Arugbo initiative, which aims to provide food support for elderly women in Ilorin.
