On Monday, Vice-President Kashim Shettima visited the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, to offer his condolences following the death of El-Rufai's mother, Hajiya Fatima Umma.
Hajiya Fatima Umma, the matriarch of the El-Rufai family, passed away on March 27 in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of 96, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
During his visit to the family at their home in Abuja, Shettima called for a united response among Nigerians, urging individuals to come together despite political differences.
He conducted prayers for the repose of Hajiya Fatima's soul and was welcomed at the residence by notable figures including former Bauchi State Governor Ahmad Muazu and retired General Abdurrahman Dambazau, who formerly served as the Chief of Army Staff.
