Lagos State Imposes Three-Month Jail Term on Two Individuals for Illegal Waste Disposal

Two Lagos residents, Kingsley Adieme and Rachel Onyekachi, have been sentenced to three months imprisonment for the unlawful dumping of refuse. The sentencing took place at the magistrate court in Bolade, Oshodi, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, following their guilty plea.

Kingsley Adieme and Rachel Onyekachi, two inhabitants of Lagos State, have received a three-month prison sentence for the offence of disposing of waste in an indiscriminate manner.

Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in the state, announced that the individuals were brought before the magistrate court located in Bolade, Oshodi. The court session occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Wahab further stated that both Adieme and Onyekachi pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.
