According to Faruk Abubakar Wurno, the Commissioner for Health in Sokoto State, individuals affected by the suspected meningitis outbreak in Kurawa village, located in Sabon Birni Local Government Area, are showing positive responses to the ongoing medical treatments.

Wurno stated that the state government has deployed healthcare professionals to the affected community. These medical teams are actively engaged in managing the cases and implementing essential measures to control the spread of the outbreak.

He further shared that the deputy governor had previously visited the community to assess the prevailing conditions and communicate with both health officials and local residents.

"The deputy governor updated me this morning, confirming significant progress is being made," the commissioner remarked, indicating that the current interventions are starting to yield favourable outcomes.

He added that the community members have been cooperative with the healthcare staff and have expressed their satisfaction with the responsiveness shown thus far.
